Wet Applying Vinyl To A Curved Surface

The edges of your design will likely stick out from the curved surface to the left and right of the tape.

Position your design in place on the surface. When it is in place use a piece of painter s tape to attach the vinyl to the surface from top to bottom across its middle. This instructable will use a skateboard deck as the example surface but the technique can be used for a variety of applications. If you re applying your sticker to a wet surface use your fingers to push and adjust the edges of the vinyl to your desired position.

Prepare your mug. Secure the vinyl to the surface with tape. If you re applying your sticker to a dry surface make sure that it s positioned and angled properly. Using a few simple tools and techniques can make this a much easier process.

If you don t have any rubbing alcohol then simply give it a good hot wash. Prepare your curved surface by wiping it with rubbing alcohol and allowing it to dry completely.
