When you turn on your tub shower valve the hot and cold water enter the valve and mix to the desired temperature. First most brands of shower valves use similar methods to install the valve. If water leaks through into the kitchen below then it s probably sealant tile grout issue. Do the obvious fixes replacing and or patching if necessary. If the leak continues even after the shower is off then the leak is probably coming from a water pipe. You can expect water to come out of the shower or the faucet.

When it does then there s obviously something wrong. However you shouldn t expect for it to come out of your leaking bathroom exhaust fan or ceiling vent. A damp spot or worse a continuous drip from the ceiling overhead signals trouble. If you have a second story bathroom the problem could be in.

Faulty shower door seal. If you are getting the trouble like that of course you have to do the hard job for repairing it. Try plugging the plughole and so no water escapes into the waste pipe and use the shower. Be sure to turn off the breaker to the vent until the issue is resolved to help prevent a ceiling fan fire and place a bucket below the leak to prevent further water.
