The order would be to install the hood first.
I am thinking i should install the range hood first and then the backsplash.
Hood installation will be easier on drywall and the tile labor and materials should be less since the area will be slightly less.
Depending on the location of your range you will need to decide if it is easier to vent through an outside wall versus up.
